entry 6 : why my second channel is called dear moon.5

first post in over a year. not intentional, just had this thought and decided to write about it. but i have been asked, not a lot but a few times why i have .5 in my name as my second channel instead of 2.

i brought up in a past post what the channel was supposed to be originally and a second idea i had for it but i scrapped those. but while figuring out what to make my channel, i was also thinking of names. i felt dear moon 2 was really basic. if you haven’t noticed, i’m one to step out the norm of other ccl channels or just any ccl and ld channel. not saying i’m the most different and unique channel ever, no. though i prefer to do things differently because i don’t want to do what other channels do, i want to expand and do something different.

anyway, origin of the name. so it was going to be called dear moon 2 and i felt like that was a poor name obviously. then i thought of dear moon number two because i was looking at something for inspiration. that being jackass. a little history on jackass, stemmed from a skateboard magazine called big brother, and then they had the opportunity to make a tv show as they had that idea from the skate videos they produced. made the tv show, one of the co-creators of jackass left due to issues (nothing internal with the other creators, cast, or crew) and then made a movie and it’s a whole franchise.

now that i got that out of the way, number two came from their second jackass movie, jackass number two. i felt like dear moon number two didn’t really suit what the channel had in store (which at the time was going to be a behind the scenes channel). i then looked at something else. jackass has so much footage, especially when making jackass number two, 3d, and forever. they made 2 hours worth of a movie with all of those movies, so they had the idea to name them 2.5, 3.5, and 4.5. but the idea for .5 didn’t hit me until i saw something else. the co-creators of jackass had made a movie under the jackass name called jackass presents: bad grandpa. bad grandpa had a story, characters, etc. they had some footage left over and interviews, etc. and they called that bad grandpa.5. very, very extra blog but i felt like it was a good explanation. so my channel aesthetic stems from jackass entirely. the font they use which is called helvetica. my pfps a lot of the time being what kpop stans call mugshots (when they’re just photo ids that come with albums, seasons greetings, etc.), just very minimalistic which i find to match very well with me.

i hope this was somewhat of an interesting read and i guess gives insight to who i am as a person as i don’t talk about myself often
